As a former Chef who has seamlessly transitioned into the role of an Office Wizard, I bring a unique blend of creativity and organizational prowess to the Royal Table team.

Beyond the office walls, I lead a life fueled by passion and adventure. Whether I'm exploring the great outdoors, casting a line into the water, or reveling in the thrill of thunderstorms, I thrive on embracing every moment to the fullest.

Random Fact: I am a self-proclaimed taco connoisseur, with a passion for tacos that borders on obsession.

At home, I take on the role of a dedicated purrfessional cat wrangler to my trio, each adding their own brand of joy and mischief to my life.

My guiding principle in both work and life is to cherish every moment and pay attention to the smallest details. My favorite aspect of my job is the sense of community it fosters. To me, each client is more than just a client; they are valued members of our extended family. I look forward to welcoming you into our community and providing you with a personalized, enriching experience tailored to your needs.

Hi, I’m Shirley, but you can call me Mom; everyone does! I’ve tried to retire twice now, but sitting at home just isn’t for me—I thrive on connection and spreading joy! I am married with two wonderful kids, four amazing grandkids, and a brand-new great-grandbaby to spoil, my heart is always full. I love to bake sweet treats that bring smiles, share hearty laughs that light up the room, and indulge in card games that spark a little friendly competition. Coloring is my little escape, letting my creativity flow!

My favorite food? Definitely Chinese—there’s just something about a good crab rangoon that makes my day. You can often find me ‘resting my eyes’ while watching Law & Order, but don’t be surprised if I perk up at the sound of a good plot twist! I’m a passionate Vikings fan—SKOL Vikings!—and nothing beats the thrill of a day at the ballpark, cheering for my Twins.

I love being the friendly face that greets our clients at Royal Table. You’ll often find me chatting with them about their latest adventures, sharing stories, and swapping pictures of our families. It’s these connections that truly make the culture of Royal Table shine, and I am so happy to be apart of it.

At heart I'm just a farm boy from nowhere South Dakota. I loved growing up surrounded by nature and animals and all my life I've been attracted to working with my hands.

On the road to massage therapy, I've worked a variety of jobs in the U.S. and abroad. Often these jobs involved long hours and heavy lifting.

My interest in massage therapy began with my own back pain. I know very well that when you have muscle pain and someone is able to apply pressure to just the right area it is one of the best feelings in the world and I look forward to delivering that experience to other people.

When I'm not working I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies that include playing the violin, camping, cooking and cycling.  I always try to make time to play with my nieces and nephews.

I look forward to working with you.

As I embarked on the journey for my lifelong career, my primary objective was to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Prior to delving into massage therapy, I served in long-term care and rehabilitation facilities as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The allure of massage therapy captivated me early on, igniting a desire to pursue it as my vocation.

Following my high school graduation, I promptly enrolled at the South Dakota School of Massage Therapy. Through massage therapy, I've discovered a profound avenue for aiding individuals across various dimensions. Joining the team at Royal Table fills me with a profound sense of belonging.

Specializing in hot/cold stone massage and Corestone massage, I bring a range of skills to the table. I am eager for the opportunity to contribute to your journey towards holistic wellness.

I entered the world of massage therapy fueled by encouragement from friends. A serene ambiance with softly lit rooms drew me in—I envisioned bringing relaxation to even the busiest individuals, if only for an hour. My passion for this field ignited after my first massage as a young adult, and I'm dedicated to sharing the transformative benefits of relaxation.

I chose to join Royal Table Massage Therapy for its flexibility and hands-off management style, which resonates with my preference for autonomy.

Beyond massage, my interests include crafting candles and family camping trips. Born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD, I'm thrilled to invite you to experience the calming effects of massage. Let's create great moments in this great place— where 'Great Faces, Great Places' is more than just a motto.

  Meet Edward, the Movement Master!

As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I've dedicated myself to holistic healing through a blend of techniques honed from my own journey of overcoming injuries and pain. My background in the US Naval Hospital and personal experiences have uniquely prepared me for this path.

I specialize in integrating stretching, movement, and massage to create personalized sessions that promote mobility and target specific muscle groups. My go-to tool? The massage gun, wielded with professional expertise to enhance your experience.

During my time at Royal Table Massage, I found myself drawn to their culture and knew I wanted to be a part of it. It's here that I refined my skills and developed a passion for helping others heal.

Outside of work, I'm dedicated to educating myself on different techniques to alleviate pain, constantly adding knowledge and tools to my arsenal. When I'm not in session, you'll often find me behind the wheel, just driving and finding peace in the open road with my beloved companion, Shadow, a gentle giant of a dog. Oh, and when I'm not exploring the world of holistic healing, I can often be found battling dragons in my favorite survival video games—patience is key, but those dragons will be slayed!

Back in high school, I watched an episode on the discovery channel about how a massage therapist helped a walrus gain mobility back in its fin.  Mobility was literally life changing in this case. This episode showcased  an emotional two year process that documented the struggles and triumphs. Sounds seemingly insignificant reading it, I know.   I was so incredibly moved by seeing this. It hit me right in the feels. I wish I could describe how powerfully impacted I was and have stayed since then. There was no question after that, I was one of the lucky ones and knew from a young age what I wanted and was meant to do.

I graduated high school early so I could enroll in massage school and get the show on the road! I cherished class and fell head over heels with what this industry offers and I was happy as a lark  to be part of it. I graduated in March of 2001 from the SD School of Massage Therapy.

One day during massage school, I passed out during yoga class. When I regained my senses, I awoke with my massage instructor, Robin Jensen, hovering over me. She said she felt an abundance of energy in my abdomen area and asked if I was pregnant. Abruptly, I said NO! I thought the mere suggestion was absurd. As most stories go, come to find out…I was indeed pregnant with my first son.

As a graduation present, my mom surprised me with a handmade massage table created by local tradesman, Kenneth Neuharth and upholstered by Jean Vandekeift.  I had the schooling, an amazing table, now I needed a name so I could start my massage practice.  I was helping mom at her thrift store one day, and my new massage table was set up right in front of the cash register. I kept looking back and forth between the table and the register thru’ out the course of the day trying to come up with a name for my business that I thought would be fitting.

The brand name of the register was “Royal”.  Royal… (new massage table sitting in front of the register) table. Royal Table.  And that is how the name Royal Table Massage Therapy came to be. Shortly after that, with the support of my family and on a wing and a prayer, I leased a commercial space in Sioux Falls, SD on the corner of 41st and West above the ol’ Johnson Appliance Building and Royal Table Massage Therapy was officially official in the spring of 2001.

My first son, Gavin, was born in Sept. of 2001. Blake, his brother was born in the summer of 2003 and the last of my all-boy crew were a set of twins that came on the first day of Spring in 2008, Gauge and Jacob. It has been interesting to find the work-life balance and honestly, it is an ever-evolving cycle that naturally changes thru’ out the years.

Fast forward to 2018 and I was presented the honor and opportunity to buy the nostalgic South Dakota School of Massage Therapy, Inc. I was beyond blessed to be able to make my dream become a reality. The building that now houses these dreams was purchased a few months before the pandemic. Timing was quite unnerving but… we have flourished here and my heart is happy!
